I created an exoplanet project based on my astrobiology knowledge! :) Warning:!! the candidates are hypothetical and not real!! !please do not take this seriously it was just a fun idea! Enjoy!   Thanks for reading!! Stardust❤

solar eclipse April 20, 2023

Image
On April 20, 2023 we had a solar eclipse  that was visible  in Western Australia. This  was a total solar eclipse ,  which means that the sun was fully covered by the moon. This solar eclipse was only observable on land from the North West Cape area in Western Australia as well as Timor-Leste and Indonesia.       (Solar eclipse of April 20, 2023) photo by:https://www.nasa.gov/image-feature/goddard/2023/sun/australian-total-solar-eclipse-on-april-20-2023 If you would like to study the sun you can buy special glasses* to observe it.                            *which look like this YOU SHOULD  NEVER  LOOK AT THE SUN WITHOUT SPECIAL EYE PROTECTION!!! Exoplanets

Dear funs of Astronomy, We have an exquisite opportunity to name Exoplanets! The IAU organises an open worldwide  competition. Solar eclipse of October 25, 2022

Image
Today we had a solar eclipse that was visible from the countries shown in the following map. The countries that are coloured in a darker shade are the ones with the larger portion of the Sun that was obscured. It began at 12:50 and ended at 15:15. photo by:  https://www.timeanddate.com/news/astronomy/solar-eclipse-october-2022 This was a really special solar eclipse because it was the largest partial eclipse this decade in terms of the number of people that was able to see. I was lucky and I saw the eclipse from Cyprus by wearing special glasses with a filter that allows you to see the Sun. It is important to wear those special glasses and you can find them easily in the market. I suggest that you get them because from now on up to 2025 the Sun's activity is increasing and you will be able to see sunspots of the size of the Earth and even bigger!   YOU SHOULD  NEVER  LOOK AT THE SUN WITHOUT SPECIAL EYE PROTECTION!!! NASA Leaders in Athens

Image
On Monday, the 18th July, two really special personalities  - Dr. Thomas Zurbuchen, Associate Administrator, Science Mission Directorate of NASA and  - Ms. Kathy Leuders, Associate Administrator, Space Operations Mission Directorate of NASA gave an informative speech at the Eugenides Foundation in Athens, Greece. They shared  unique insights into the current and future missions of NASA. You can watch the discussion with NASA Leadership in the following link:  https://www.eef.edu.gr/el/programme/syzitisi-me-epikefalis-tis-nasa-epistimi-kai-diastimikes-apostoles-stin-nasa/?fbclid=IwAR1GusAtyKzshVOZzHTq1yL-TapGDR6JURnsekeUDjuuxajC8VvbUWiKBGU For your info, I asked a question about NASA’s strategy regarding the space pollution and you are able to watch it at 49:20 minutes. Enjoy it,  Stardust 🌌

What is a nebula?

Image
A nebula is a place where stars, planets and solar systems are born. Nebulae are very important because without them would not exist planets or our Earth. No life would exist without a nebula. Our galaxy exists because of a nebula. Inside a nebula there are more than 3,000 stars, dust and gases. There is a variety of stars such as the brown dwarfs*, giants, red dwarfs, etc. A shooting star isn’t a star but a meteor burning up when it gets too hot. This happens when the meteor comes close to Earth’s atmosphere. Brown Dwarf *The brown dwarf is a small star that hasn't got the power to be a real star Giant Star (Sirius) Red Dwarf Nebula - Pillars of Creation Hope you enjoyed the article! Thank you, Stardust
