Solar eclipse of October 25, 2022

Today we had a solar eclipse that was visible from the countries shown in the following map. The countries that are coloured in a darker shade are the ones with the larger portion of the Sun that was obscured. It began at 12:50 and ended at 15:15.

This was a really special solar eclipse because it was the largest partial eclipse this decade in terms of the number of people that was able to see.

I was lucky and I saw the eclipse from Cyprus by wearing special glasses with a filter that allows you to see the Sun. It is important to wear those special glasses and you can find them easily in the market. I suggest that you get them because from now on up to 2025 the Sun's activity is increasing and you will be able to see sunspots of the size of the Earth and even bigger!

YOU SHOULD NEVER LOOK AT THE SUN WITHOUT SPECIAL EYE PROTECTION!!!

If you want you can watch this 3-hours video, so you can watch the solar eclipse if you didn't had the opportunity to see it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aES74EuP23g&t=7483s
